The SS Natchez, a stern-wheel steamboat and casino. I decide to ride the 444 mile Natchez Trace Parkway north across Mississippi to Nashville. The Trace follows an animal migration route used by prehistoric tribes, and was later a pre-steamboat era trade route. Thousands of "Kaintucks", Kentucky frontiersmen, ran boats down the Mississippi for cash, and hiked the 450 miles back to Nashville. It was a rough and tumble journey, Meriwether Lewis, of Lewis and Clark fame, met his end traveling on the Trace.
