View to west of the Absaroka Range, Wyoming, from Clarks Fork Overlook on the Beartooth Highway. The summits at center right are Pilot and Index Peaks, nunataks composed of Eocene volcanics that rose above the Yellowstone ice sheet. The top of the prominent white band visible across the entire view is the Heart Mountain Fault, along which the worlds' largest subaerial landslide occurred catastrophically about 50 million years ago.
