Tioga Pass (9943 ft, 3031 m), the highest highway pass in the Sierra Nevada, is the eastern entry point for Yosemite National Park. The pass has a gradual approach from the west, and drops off dramatically to the east, losing more than 3000 ft (914 m) to US 395 in Owens Valley.
