Eureka, population 610, has a hotel, and an Opera House, built in 1810. While taking this picture the County Sheriff pulled up beside me, rolled his window down slowly, and drawled, "What do you think you are, some kind of one man old fart motorcycle gang?". I didn't know what to make of that, but it seemed crazy and I cracked a smile. He broke character, grinned and said he was just having some fun. We chatted for a bit, shook hands, and he wished me a safe ride.
