The conference is non-stop, so I skip lunch to ride to the top of Lookout Mountain southwest of Golden. From here there are excellent views of North and South Table Mountains. They are mesas capped by Cenozoic basalt flows, the resistant cap rock over the more erodible Cretaceous Denver Formation give rise to the flat topped landforms.
