I cross the Golden Gate Bridge in thick fog, and heavy traffic. I circle back around to the San Francisco Presido to get a view of the bridge, which is shrouded in fog. The Presido, now a park, was formerly a military base. These are the remains of Battery Godfrey, one of 15 gun batteries completed on the Presidio by the early 1900s to protect the harbor.
